Sketches from the Niger Delta 7 - a view of the river using water-mixable oils

Summary: Another day of monsoon weather in the Niger Delta. Taking cover from the rain under the porch of the clinic, I sketched in water-mixable oils

rain at the clinic painted in water-mixable oilsI painted this from the porch of the clinic at Enekorogha as seen in yesterday's post, and I was painting on that day from the river bank shown in this painting. Water-mixable oils was the medium on primed pastel paper. In a couple of hours it was more or less dry.

Don't let me give you the idea that I didn't like the rain. On the contrary, it was cool, the atmosphere and lighting was great and people walking by with umbrellas make an interesting subject.
