motorcycle sketch isle of manThis viewpoint is exactly the same as yesterday's post, only this time in pencil and done at a more leisurely pace. There was a delay before the start of the race (normal for the TT) so I had plenty of time to plan the view and composition, and draw the whole scene. Then, when the race started, it was a one minute job to sketch in a few motorcycles in as they came towards me. With 90 riders and 4 laps, there was plenty of choice and repeated opportunities to get the angles and shapes right. I didn't use an eraser at all, except where my thumb had smudged the graphite, but the eraser only made it worse - should have left it as it was.

Pencil  in moleskine sketchbook.
