Summary: I painted this in pastels at Toddington station in Gloucestershire, England, while waiting for our steam train to arrive

Toddington station is on the edge of the Cotswolds, not far from Tekwesbury where I was based recently for a couple of days painting. The old steam trains and carriages made a wonderful subject and I painted this in pastels while we were waiting for our train to arrive. When we boarded our steam train we ordered tea and cream scones, felt extremely British - which of course we are - and all thoughts of painting we pushed to one side. There's nothing like a steam train. Nothing. Pure engineering loveliness...
