Sketches from the Niger Delta 6 - Enekorogha clinic in water mixable oils

Summary: This I did as a small present to the New Foundations Health workers at the Enekorogha clinic in the Niger Delta, painted in water mixable oils

water mixable oil painting on pastel paperThis is one of only two oil paintings I did in the Niger Delta using water mixable oils. Apart from a small tin of pastels and a pencil, this was the only other painting medium I took with me. Water mixable oils was a good choice because I didn't need to take an oil-based medium, or turps with me - which would have been a possible problem on planes.

I painted this on an A4 sheet of pastel paper, primed with blue water-mixable oils, It's a pretty faithful rendering of the clinic at Enekorogha, and it's now pinned to the notice board there.
