charcoal sketch inside St. John's College ChapelI would have liked to paint in oils or watercolour in St. John's College Chapel, but the rules don't allow for the use of any wet painting materials. I suppose it's possible for you to trip over, stand on a tube of phthalo blue and send a jet of indelible pigment  "splat" all over some priceless book or ancient piece of furniture. The mind boggles.
Anyway, I restricted myself to charcoal on paper which is fine because it's very simple to use and you can concentrate on the  sketch itself.
