more pen sketches of birdsAnother sheet of practice bird sketches - using a page of sketches from a bird book by John Busby. He is the king of bird painters as far as I'm concerned. Not because he paints in great detail - he doesn't - but because he seems to catch the character and movement of birds.

Again, I used two brushes - smaller one dipped in black acrylic ink, the larger one dipped in well-diluted black ink to do the shading.
