Pen sketch in Pont Audemar

Summary: A lightening quick sketch in Rue de la Republique in Pont Audemar, not far from Honfleur and Rouen

sketch in pont audemarDay 9 of my paintings holiday in Normandy in France. Earlier in the day sketched dormer windows in Brionne; now in Pont Audemar, known as the Venice of Normandy because of the small canals and streams running through the town.

Place de la Republique is the busiest street and I sketched this in pen and crayon whilst standing next to the car before going off to explore. I shaded first with the side of a water-soluble crayon, then worked into it with pen.
